Private by default
Public temp mail can be opened by anyone who knows the address. Addresses on your domain are private: only you can read them, from your dashboard, behind an optional PIN.
Connect a domain you own and create private addresses like you@yourname.com. Only you can read them, disposable-email blocklists do not know them, and they keep working for as long as you want them.
The basics
A custom domain lets you use temp mail on a domain you own instead of a shared one. Mail sent to any address you create on it, like you@yourname.com, lands in a private Mail Vanish inbox that only you can open.
Shared temp mail domains are public and well known, which is why some sites refuse them and why anyone who guesses an address can read its inbox. Your own domain has neither problem. You prove you control it with one TXT record, point its MX records at Mail Vanish, and every address on it gets the same tools as Private Emails: a PIN lock, verified forwarding and tracker blocking.
It works for a personal name, a brand, or a spare domain you keep just for sign-ups and testing. The same addresses are available to the temp mail API, so scripts and AI agents can use them too.
Why use your own domain
Everything you like about disposable addresses, without the shared domain that gives them away.
Public temp mail can be opened by anyone who knows the address. Addresses on your domain are private: only you can read them, from your dashboard, behind an optional PIN.
Sites block temp mail by matching shared, well-known domains. Your own domain is not on those lists, so sign-up forms see an ordinary address.
hello@yourname.com reads as you, not as a throwaway service. Use it for sign-ups, trials and contact forms where a real-looking address matters.
You keep the domain and its DNS. Addresses are never rotated or reassigned, and you can point the MX records somewhere else whenever you like.
Create shop@, signups@ or one address per website. When spam starts, you know exactly which site leaked it, and you can delete just that address.
The Premium temp mail API creates addresses on your domain and reads their mail, so test suites and AI agents can use it as well as you.
How it works
No mail server to run. You add a few DNS records, Mail Vanish does the rest.
Custom domains come with the Premium plan, billed monthly or yearly. Cancel anytime.
Open Custom domains in your dashboard and type a domain or subdomain you control.
Copy one TXT and the MX records into your DNS provider, then press Verify DNS.
Pick any prefix on your domain. Each address gets its own private inbox straight away.
At your registrar or DNS host, on the domain you connect ("@" means the domain itself). Your dashboard shows your own TXT value with a copy button. Remove any other MX records on that name, or some mail will go there instead.
| Type | Host | Value | Priority |
|---|---|---|---|
| TXT | @ | mailvanish-verify=your-token | - |
| MX | @ | mx1.mail-vanish.com | 10 |
DNS changes usually show within minutes and can take a few hours. Press Verify DNS in the dashboard and it tells you which record is still missing.
Use cases
Mail Vanish is receive-only, so your domain never sends mail and its reputation stays yours.
Free trials, newsletters and app accounts get an address on your domain instead of your real inbox. Forward what matters, ignore the rest.
Give each environment or test run its own address on a domain you control, and read verification mail from your dashboard or the API.
netflix@yourname.com, airline@yourname.com: separate addresses keep accounts apart and show you who shares your email.
